MEET DR. MARCUS K. PARKER

Dr. Marcus K. Parker is an interventional spine and pain medicine specialist located in Fulshear & Columbus, Texas who offers expert pain and spine care.

  • Double Board certified in Pain Management and Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology
     

  • Medical School: The University of Texas Medical School in Houston.
     

  • Residency in Anesthesiology: The University of Texas Medical School in Houston.
     

  • Fellowship in Pain Management: The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.

Dr. Parker specializes in the evidenced based application of minimally invasive procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of many causes of pain.   His experience crosses all aspects of pain management, and he has a special interest in advanced interventions for neck and low back pain, spinal cord stimulation, augmentation in vertebral compression fractures, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, and a variety of other chronic and cancer pain states.  He is also well versed in facial pain and interventional strategies in various types of headaches.  Dr. Parker’s goal for each and every patient is to compassionately improve their functioning through the elimination or control of pain.

Dr. Parker’s love for fitness and athletics has shaped his approach as a physician and he is a strong advocate of using exercise to battle various sports and spine injuries.  Dr. Parker’s commitment to improving one’s functional activity level is at the core of the philosophy here at Parker Pain and Spine.

Dr. Parker’s philosophy of care is to treat the whole person.  He believes in treating a patient as though they were one of his own family members.  Dr. Parker believes in attempting to soundly establish what is generating the pain, whether it be a neuropathic problem, a structural issue or faulty biomechanics.  He will outline a treatment regimen that is beyond just medication and will incorporate alternative/emerging techniques in order to quickly eliminate or control the pain issue. He is excited to welcome new patients into his practice.

Dr. Parker is a member of a number of different pain societies as well as the Texas Medical Association and is frequently invited to present and teach others in the utilization of advanced interventional pain techniques.

In his spare time Dr. Parker enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
